AT least three Vodacom Tanzania staff members have been rewarded for exemplary performance of their duties during this year’s prestigious Vodacom CEO Awards held over the weekend in Johannesburg.
Lillian Mwasha, a Vodacom Tanzania Head of Sustainability won the ‘Vodacom Volunteer Award’, Isack Nchunda, Head of M-Commerce Marketing and Product Development won the ‘Vodacom Individual Award’ while the company’s sales and distribution team won the ‘Vodacom Team Award’.
Speaking to staff at the Vodacom Tanzania Head Offices in Dar es Salaam, Rene Meza, Vodacom Tanzania Managing Director, congratulated the winners for their hard work and commitment.
“You are our most valuable assets and we are proud to celebrate your success. We sincerely wish you the best of luck in your assignments and we shall be here to support you always,” Meza pledged.
Vodacom Tanzania Chief Officer, Human Resources, Fred Mwita also praised the staff saying have exhibited commitment and made Vodacom Tanzania, the market leader.
Every year, a carefully selected group of Vodacom employees from across all counties where Vodacom operate (Tanzania, Mozambique, DR Congo, South Africa, Lesotho and Mozambique) are invited to attend the Vodacom CEO Awards in Johannesburg.
The recipients of this coveted award have made contributions that extend way beyond the normal course of business and the purpose of the event is to celebrate their success and inspire others.
The Volunteer award recognises employees who make immense contributions to success and who live by the values of the company. The Innovation award recognises creativity in delivering new services and innovation in the company’s ways of working, Meza said.
The Team award recognizes those teams who have worked tirelessly to implement and execute successful business imperative and the Individual Award recognizes individuals who are positive, passionate, and are fully committed to ensure that the company remains the market leader.
